Celia's reflections

About

I started this blog to record my reflections on the PLN program – a SLAV online PD program.   I am a teacher at a school in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  I help integrate ICT into classroom programs.  Always keen to learn how we can use these tools to their fullest potential with students.

At the moment we are keen to pursue all opportunities that exist to connect our students with the world beyond our school – we see this as a way to enhance their learning as well as our teaching.

    Hello Celia ;)

I stumbled across your blog because I found a really cool image “The Networked Teacher” in an image search. Awesome to have found you, randomly.

I teach Gr. 5 in Hong Kong at the Canadian International School. Please visit our site and maybe we can make a few connections between students. We’re always looking for new people to meet and we always have news to share!

On a side note, I was in Melbourne for the very first time over Christmas this past year to visit my sister and her husband. They just moved there after teaching in S. Korea for the past 7 years. Anyways – I absolutely LOVED your wonderful city!

Please check us out – the 5D Disco – we’ll be checking you out for sure.

Hi Celia, I have already learnt that if you don’t fill in the field you will lose the comment you wrote! I find that there is a lot to learn about ICT and how it can be used to support learning and teaching. I have begun to explore the use of ICT thanks to your support and encouragement. The dialogue is opened and I am beginning to explore the Blogs of my colleagues. What they have achieved is truly amazing. as I have been navigating their sites, I have already learned how diverse these Blogs can be and how accessing information and exploring them is a learning curve already. As I take risks, explore and discovery new opportunities I believe my skills will improve and develop. Learning about myself as a learner and seeking the support of others will drive my success. Building my capacity as a technology user will take time and effort but the journey has begun.
